This class takes place in the small pool and is slower paced than the main pool Aquacise with no jumping exercises but still provides a full body workout. After the warmup, the upper body section is performed either on the knees or sat on the steps so a chest height depth is achieved. There is then a section at the wall that works the lower body, plus some core work and stretching.
Aquacise uses the resistance of the water to push and pull against to offer a full body cardio workout. It combines a mixture of body weight and water dumbbell exercises. As well as improving heart health, it also strengthens the muscles. The water offers good support which means it is much kinder on the joints than land-based classes as the impact is reduced.
Key Benefits
Cardiovascular Fitness
Aquacise gets your heart pumping, enhancing cardiovascular health. The water’s resistance challenges your muscles, elevating your heart rate and promoting endurance.
Muscle Strengthening
By engaging various muscle groups, Aquacise helps you build strength and tone. The water’s buoyancy provides gentle yet effective resistance, making it suitable for all fitness levels.
Joint-Friendly
Unlike land-based classes, where impact can strain joints, Aquacise offers a low-impact alternative. The water’s supportive environment reduces stress on joints, making it ideal for individuals with joint issues or those recovering from injuries.
